Twenty three years ago my family and I moved to Bundaberg looking for a lifestyle change. We instantly fell in love with the relaxed country way of life but with all the modern conveniences of a city which Bundaberg had to offer. I guess you could say we had a tree change.

Camp Quality $100,000 target for 2007

RE/MAX offices and sales associates have been challenged to reach a Camp Quality fundraising target of $100,000 this year, following the network's total of $86,890 raised in 2006.
Camp Quality spokesperson Lisa Rusten, who addressed delegates at the RE/MAX Retro Revolution BBQ at the convention, thanked RE/MAX for its ongoing support.
As the organisation's second largest annual sponsor, RE/MAX has raised more than $700,000 since becoming involved with Camp Quality in July 1999. Last year West Australian affiliates overtook Queenslanders for the first time, adding almost $40,000 to the RE/MAX fundraising pool.
In 2006 RE/MAX sent more than 150 kids to camps as diverse as trips to the beach, skiing and a visit to Lindeman Island. This year Camp Quality will hold its first overseas camp, sending a group of children to New Zealand for 10 days.
"We are also diversifying the program in 2007 to roll out educational training in addition to our fun therapy projects," Lisa said.
"Given that some kids miss up to 18 months of school during their medical treatments, it can be very difficult for them to catch up on their work. On top of dealing with cancer treatment, this can be a real esteem issue for them.
"One year of tutoring costs $1,500 and we're aiming to get 30 children through that program over 2007/08."

Michael learned and worked within the Auction environment in his earlier years with Richardson & Wrench of Bundaberg, owned by former owners not the present day owners, who successfully marketed and sold hundreds of properties under the auction process in the Bundaberg area.

Andrew has come to RE/MAX precision after working in the industry in Brisbane. After successfully cracking the Brisbane real estate market Andrew has come home to his roots, bringing experience and knowledge with him. Born and Bred in Bundaberg with strong family ties it was inevitable Andrew would return to Bundaberg to work in real estate.

After leaving high school Andrew pursued a career in hospitality working in Bundaberg as a duty manager at the sugarland tavern until he was offered a position as an Assistant Manager of the West End Club in Brisbane providing Andrew with high communication and service skills.

Casey Miller

Born in Monto and moving to Bundaberg at an early age, Casey started and completed her education at Bundaberg North. During her schooling she was offered a traineeship with MRH Lawyers and continued on with the law firm for 3 years working her way up the ladder to the position of a Para-legal. Wanting to change career paths, Casey obtained a position with Ray White Bundaberg as a receptionist and continuing there for over 2 years becoming the office’s Legal/Sales Secretary. Then Casey was approached by Aaron Thompson / Scott Mackey to join their very successful team at RE/MAX Precision, taking on the role of Personal Assistant to Aaron Thompson. JOHN HAS JOINED THE RENTAL TEAM

Finally after a twenty-year career in the Australian Army, predominantly within the logistics field, I have decided to settle down in Bundaberg. Moving every two to three years across four states has its advantages as you are always meeting new people and visiting new places. After owning properties in Adelaide and Brisbane, the Real Estate profession is something I felt I could really be a part of and I believe my professionalism will be well suited to this industry.
 
My decision to settle in Bundy was mainly due to my desire to spend time with family and friends. The added bonus was the areas perfect climate, excellent sporting facilities and affordable lifestyle. Before joining RE/MAX, I worked a short time with an old Amy mate in the local area doing property maintenance. This allowed me to get to know the layout of the area as well as gaining valuable knowledge on maintenance issues.

I look forward to the challenges of working in a new area and being in property management, I can’t think of a better way to meet the people of Bundaberg and in return provide a efficient and effective service to customers and clients.

Scott Mackey is the winner of "Young Manager of the Year".  Scott opened RE/MAX Precision in March 2003 and has been the driving force behind the success of the office.  Scott was awarded this prestigious award at a ceremony in Gladstone on Saturday evening and will now go on to be judged for the Queensland Young Manager of the Year.  The awards involve a written submission and then a formal interview process where applicants are judged against a number of selection criteria.  Scott was nominated for the Awards by Commonwealth Bank and he is very proud of this achievement.  He also won the National Top Recruiting Award and Outstanding marketing Award for 2005.

Last week Scott Mackey visited North Bundaberg State High and gave a motivational speech to a group of Year 12 Business, Communication and Technology students. The speech entailed the running of a business, the difference in Franchises, management of business plus business planning and growth in Bundaberg Real Estate.
 
The students really enjoyed the speech and thought it was not only informative but very motivational and great for their future career choices.
